Information collected from Tesla’s electrical vehicles in China is saved in China, the U.S. automaker’s vice chairman mentioned, after studies that China’s army has banned Teslas from its services.
“Tesla as an organization with operations in China should abide China’s legal guidelines and rules,” Tao Lin informed reporters in Beijing on Tuesday.
“Our knowledge could be very properly protected. Chinese language knowledge is saved in China.”
Tao mentioned Tesla, which is constructing electrical Mannequin 3 sedans and Mannequin Y sport-utility automobiles in Shanghai, would share its understanding of knowledge safety with the Chinese language authorities.
Sources informed Reuters on Friday that the Chinese language army had banned Tesla vehicles from getting into its complexes, citing safety considerations over cameras put in on the automobiles.
Tesla Chief Government Elon Musk mentioned in March his firm could be shut down if its vehicles had been used to spy.
