Federal investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday on the Manhattan condo of Rudy Giuliani, the previous mayor of New York Metropolis who was the private lawyer of former President Donald Trump, NBC Information reported, citing two sources who noticed the raid unfold.
The search was a part of a prison investigation into Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine, The New York Occasions reported first Wednesday, citing three individuals with information of the matter.
Federal prosecutors in New York final 12 months sought approval from high officers on the Division of Justice to ask for a search warrant for Giuliani’s digital communications, NBC reported. Giuliani is the previous United States legal professional for the Southern District of New York, the identical workplace that’s investigating him.
Giuliani and a spokesman for Trump didn’t instantly reply to CNBC’s requests for touch upon the report. A spokesman for the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace for the Southern District of New York declined to remark to CNBC on the reported raid of Giuliani’s dwelling.

Giuliani tried in 2019 to dig up damaging data on President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, in reference to Hunter’s enterprise dealings in Ukraine.
